Privacy policy

Sundrown by Rasant Studio · Updated September 9, 2026

This policy explains how information is handled by the Sundrown website and the Android edition of the game. The browser game is hosted separately on itch.io.

This website

This site has no analytics SDK, advertising code, accounts, forms, cookies set by our code, or browser-storage tracking. Its images and styles are served from the same site.

The hosting provider may process ordinary request information, including IP addresses and technical connection details, to deliver and secure the site. No claim of anonymous browsing is made.

Following the Play link takes you to itch.io, which operates under its own privacy policy. This website does not embed the game or contact itch.io automatically.

Data on your device

The Android game stores progress, unlocked sectors, personal bests, settings, ad-spacing counters, rewarded-ad cooldowns, a coarse age range, and purchase entitlement status on your device. These support Continue, Stage Select, preferences, advertising controls, and purchased benefits.

Sundrown does not operate player accounts or its own cloud-save service. Android may back up or restore app data according to your device and Google-account backup settings. This is separate from a Rasant Studio account.

Clearing app data can remove local progress. Uninstalling removes the installed app's local data, but may not erase Android backups or records retained by Google services.

Advertising in the Android game

The Android edition uses Google Mobile Ads. Automatic advertisements are displayed only between completed sectors, not during active player control, on a death, or on an immediate restart. The SDK may request and preload an ad earlier, after the app's privacy and eligibility checks, so it is ready at a safe transition.

There are no banner ads. Optional rewarded videos grant 30 minutes without automatic ads. A completed reward starts a five-hour cooldown; cancelled or unavailable ads do not consume that cooldown. Rewards do not change gameplay or competitive records.

Google and its partners may process IP addresses, approximate location derived from IP, device or advertising identifiers, ad and app interactions, diagnostic information, privacy choices, and a coarse age-treatment category to deliver, measure, protect, and configure advertising. The age-treatment category is derived from the selected range; it is not a birth date.

Google's User Messaging Platform provides consent and privacy choices where required. Available privacy options can be accessed from the Android game's menu. Choosing not to consent does not necessarily mean that no advertising-related data is processed.

Players with the Supporter Pack have advertising disabled by the game. The game checks Google Play purchase status to grant, restore, or revoke this benefit.

Analytics and diagnostics in the Android game

The Android edition uses Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring. Analytics collection is off by default and enables only for players aged 13 and older who accept the advertising consent choices; Under 13 and unknown age ranges never enable it. Without a configured backend the calls are inert.

When enabled, the game reports gameplay events (cleared sectors with pack, sector, time and fall counts; a one-time collection-active marker), crash reports with technical diagnostics, and app performance traces. Parameters are limited to gameplay counters and status flags; the game sends no names, contacts, messages, or precise location.

Google and Firebase may process device or installation identifiers, app interactions, diagnostic information, IP addresses and approximate location derived from IP to provide, measure, and secure these services. Data is retained under Google's policies. There is no separate in-game analytics switch: collection follows the same age and consent choices described above, and can additionally be limited through the device advertising-ID settings.

Purchases

The Android edition offers a one-time Supporter Pack through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payments. Rasant Studio does not receive your full payment-card details.

The game receives purchase status and related identifiers needed to grant, restore, acknowledge, or revoke the purchased entitlement. Purchase records managed by Google follow Google's retention rules.

Age and children's privacy

Sundrown is intended for players aged 13 and older. The Android game asks for a neutral age range and stores that coarse selection on the device, not a date of birth. The gameplay content is the same for every selection.

If Under 13 is selected, the game does not request ads or expose a purchase entry point. Ages 13–17 receive conservative child-safe, general-audience and non-personalized ad treatment plus an under-age consent signal. Advertising for adults remains subject to the available privacy choices.

Third-party services

The Android edition includes Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Billing, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring. These services may process information under their own policies and legal obligations.

Sundrown does not request your contacts, precise location, photos, microphone recordings, or user-generated content. It does not include an account-login.

Retention, security, and changes

Rasant Studio does not operate a player-account database for Sundrown. Local data remains subject to your device and backup settings. Third-party providers retain their records under their own policies and applicable law.

We use reasonable measures to limit data access to what is needed. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed to be completely secure. This policy will be updated when the released game or its services change.
